What this site does not do

• No accounts, logins or profiles. There is nothing here to register for.
• No contact form, no newsletter and no email capture of any kind.
• No advertising network, no retargeting pixel and no behavioural tracking.
• No cookies set by this site. Nothing is written to browser storage by these pages.
• No sale, sharing or brokering of visitor data, since none is collected to sell.

Server logs

Like any site, requests reach a web server, and the server keeps ordinary access logs. Those typically record the requested address, the time, a response code, a referring address where the browser sends one, and a user agent string, alongside an IP address. That data exists to keep the site working and to deal with abuse, and it is not used to build a profile of anyone or combined with any other source.

Third parties that receive a request

Three assets on these pages are loaded from external services, which means those services see a request from your browser when a page opens. This is worth stating plainly rather than hiding in a list.

• A public CDN serves the stylesheet and script for the layout framework and the icon font used in the interface.
• A font service serves the three typefaces the site uses for headings, body text and specification rows.
• Nothing else. There is no analytics provider, no tag manager, no session recorder and no embedded media on any page.

Those providers have their own policies covering what they log. If you would rather they did not see a request, a content blocker will stop the requests and the site remains readable, though it will look plainer than intended.

Links to other sites

Some pages link to documentation and to commercial tools. Following a link takes you to somebody else's site, where their rules apply and ours stop. A link is not a recommendation, and nothing about this site's handling of data carries over to a destination it points at.

Email sent to the desk

Messages sent to the desk address are received in an ordinary mailbox and read by the desk. They are kept while they are useful, which for a correction means until the page is fixed and for anything else usually means not long. They are not added to a mailing list, not forwarded, not published and not quoted anywhere without asking the sender first.

Changes to this page

If the site ever adds something that collects data, this page changes before the thing is added rather than afterwards, and the change is written in plain terms rather than as an amended clause. As of this build there are no accounts, no forms, no analytics and no cookies, and there are no plans to introduce any of them.

Anything about this page can be sent to the desk address on the contact page. If a question here has a genuinely uncertain answer, the reply will say so rather than reaching for reassuring wording.
